Lovera Nora Settelmeyer
Lovera Nora (Harrum) Settelmeyer, 90, Fargo, ND previously of New Rockford, ND, died Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Lovera was born February 16, 1920 at home in rural Sheyenne, ND to Elmer and Bettina (Bergum) Harrum. She graduated from New Rockford High School in 1938 and Bottineau School of Nursing in 1943. She was united in marriage to Joe Settelmeyer on January 7, 1946 while serving in the US Army Nurse Corp as a Second Lieutentant in California. Upon her discharge, they returned and farmed in the New Rockford area until Joe's death in 1980. She was an RN in Carrington and New Rockford Nursing Homes.
She later moved to Fargo and currently resided at River Square Apartments where she enjoyed sewing, reading, puzzles, playing cards and visiting with friends and family. She was always up for a trip. She is survived by 7 daughters and 4 sons. Jolene (Allen) Bakkila, Moorhead, MN; Diane (Jim) Klein, New England, ND; Rodney (JoAnn) Settelmeyer, New Rockford, ND; Gregory (Inez) Settelmeyer, Barnesville, MN; Karen (Steve) Adame, Colorado Springs, CO; Polly (Dave) Nelson, Bismarck, ND; Peggy (John) Sveum, McLeod, ND; Mary Kay (Russ) Peterson, Cody, WY; Cyrilla (Richard) Vetch, Townsend, MT; Joel (Camille) Settelmeyer, Hickson, ND; Jeff (Linda) Settelmeyer, Gillette, WY; 34 Grandchildren and 21 Great She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joe, daughter, Oveda, sisters Evelyn and Alice, brothers Lyman and Irvin, daughter in law, Pam and grandsons Austin and Joseph. Arrangements by West Funeral Home, West Fargoand Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford, ND.
Memorial Mass will be Monday, October 11th at 9 am at Riverview Place Chapel, Fargo, ND. Visitation will be Monday 3-8pm and rosary at 8 pm at Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, October 12th at 4 pm at St. Johns Catholic Church with internment to follow at St. Johns Cemetery, New Rockford, ND |

Message: Sorry to hear of Lavera's passing. She was a lovely lady who liked to live life to its fullest. I remember her visits to Arizona and to Portland, OR, and my beach house at Gleneden Beach, OR.
