Mary Buskness, age 96, of Carrington, ND, died Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at Carrington Health Center, Carrington, ND.

Mary Nettie Bohl was born on April 15, 1914, the daughter of Jacob and Louise (Meyer) Bohl at Woodworth, ND. Mary was raised and attended schools in Woodworth.

On August 8, 1938, Mary was united in marriage to John Buskness in Jamestown, ND. They moved to Sykeston, ND, and farmed in the Sykeston and Woodworth area. In 1961, they moved back to the Woodworth area. John died on August 2, 1974.

She worked at the Buchanan Café and cleaned at the Independent, both in Carrington, ND, and she took care of Grandma Clark for many years. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, crossword puzzles, board games, jigsaw puzzles, gardening, and cooking. She was a member of Woodworth Senior Citizens and New Home Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Mary will be remembered and deeply missed by her three children, Connie (Bob) Aljets, Harvey, ND, Marilyn (Gayle) Hirsch, Cary, IL, and Ron (Cheryl) Buskness, Woodworth, ND; twenty-two grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jake and George Bohl, both of Woodworth; and a sister, Adeline Nelson of WA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four children, Donald, Gail, Gloria, and Gerald; two grandchildren, Roger Aljets and Timothy Hirsch; and five brothers, Ed, Hank, Ben, Bill, and Hugo.
