John A. Messmer

John Anthony Messmer of Bordulac was abruptly taken from us on July 16, 2014, at the age of 66 years old.
John was born January 16, 1948 in Carrington, ND to Ervin and Ruth (Schuster) Messmer. He lived and farmed in the Bordulac area nearly all of his life. John met Regina Dennis and they were later married on November 1, 1994. He was an over the road truck driver for 20 years, but still managed to get his crops planted in the spring, and harvested in the fall.
He did not consider anyone a stranger, just a friend he hadn’t met yet. He would stop and help someone in need, just because. He will be greatly missed by his wife and extended family, and by everyone in the community that knew and loved him.
He leaves behind his loving wife Regina of nearly 20 years, four beautiful step daughters, Lisa (John) Lane, Smiths, AL; Michelle (David) Lundy, Devils Lake, ND; Shannon, Grand Forks, ND; and Jennifer (Brad) Wade, Canton, GA; seven grandchildren, Casey, Cheyanne ( Lisa); Chelsea (Michelle); Samantha and Cody (Shannon); Kristin, David (Jennifer) and Donnie (Eva and their three children Madison, Natalie and Callen); two great grandchildren Casey and McKenzie (Lisa); two brothers Paul (Rachel) Carrington, ND, Tom Messmer, rural Carrington, ND; two sisters Mary Remmick (Tom Nyhill) ID, and Kathleen (Warren) Bien, Bismarck, ND; sister in-laws Doris Messmer Bordulac, ND, Linda (Charles) Sutter NE; aunts Dorothy Peterson, Coralee Schuster, Carrington, ND, Norma Messmer, and Jeanette Partlow, Fargo, ND; many nieces and nephews; and his two 4 legged “kids” Abby and Bobo.
John was preceded in death by both of his parents, and one brother Larry.
