Richard Nerlien
Richard Nerlien, age 56, of Fargo, ND, died January 24, 2018, at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND. Richard Daniel Nerlien was born on January 10, 1962, in St. Paul, MN, the son of Donald and Carol (Brown) Nerlien. His family moved to Sheyenne, ND, in December 1974, where he attended school. Richard later received his GED. He attended 1st Lutheran Church in Sheyenne where he was confirmed.
Richard was united in marriage to Patty Smith on February 14, 1991, in Sheyenne. They made their home in Devils Lake, New Rockford, and Carrington until 2010 when they moved to Fargo. He had multiple jobs throughout his life, working for Donny Kolstad, Roy Walstrom, Leonardo’s, Dakota Growers Pasta Plant, and for the Union as a Millwright.
Richard loved his family; his children were his pride and joy. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, attending family gathering, camping and going to the casino. He was well liked and everywhere you would go someone knew Richard. Richard is survived by his wife Patty, Fargo, his children Jeremy, Jade (Brianna Donnan), Tiffany, and Tate, all of Fargo; his mother Carol Nerlien, Sheyenne; 3 brothers, Keith, Sheyenne, Duane (Deb), East Bethel, MN, Robert (Kathy), Columbia Heights, MN; 2 sisters, Kay (Julie) Helland, Devils Lake, ND and Jodi (Gary) Cooper, Sheyenne; mother-in-law Elma Smith, sisters-in-law Deanna, Denise and Pam; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Donny, his brother Dale, and father-in-law Lester Smith

I wish one of us would have been picture takers but the memories I will always cherish. Me and jan have had so much fun with u and patty these last couple years and with ur family,jeremy Jade,Tiff and Tate. Our prayers go out to u Patty and to ur kids. I know how hard this must be for u all. It's been hard on us too but cant even ccompare to what u guys must be going through anything u guys need I'm here for u. He was with u more then anyone u two were soul mates I am so sorry. I remember the story he always told everyone about the first day he went to sheyenne school in grade school and he saw u and he told his classmate "I'm going to marry that girl" and how he spent his whole check trying to buy your ggarter at ur first wedding He loved u and your kids so much.
