Message: I met Mathew on the National Close-Up trip. He was in my group as we toured DC and New York, and within the first day, he had made friends with everyone in the group. By the end of the week, he had impacted all of our lives in such a positive way with his outgoing personality and he entertained us on the bus ride to New York with stories of memories from back home. As we walked through NY, he saw some of the girls get nervous and overwhelmed with all the hustle and bustle, and Mathew rallied up the guys and decided that they would protect us and be the "bodyguards" during the times we were free to roam the city.

Mathew carried a heart of gold. I consider myself so blessed that God gave me the chance to meet such an incredible young man.

To the family, I am so sorry for your loss. Thoughts and prayers to you all.

Message: Jim, Karen, & Family

So very sorry to hear about Mathew.  We enjoyed our last visit with Mathew last Sunday when we stopped by the farm and he and Zoey were mowing the lawn.  We visited for 1 1/2 hours and we were laughing and watching our Zoey and his Zoey play and goof around.

We will keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers!  There is nothing one can say to take the hurt and pain away but just know you have great friends and if you need anything help will be there, you just have to ask.

May God bless you all!
