Dwain "Duke" Olds

Dwain “Duke� Olds, 84, of New Rockford, ND, formerly of Crosby, ND, died March 12, 2014 at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford, ND.

He was born on June 10, 1929, in Stanton, ND to Nathan and Jane (Martin) Olds and spent his childhood on the family farm. In his adult years, he also lived in Williston, Crosby, and Kenmare. From 1954-1956, he served in the Army and was stationed in Italy. In 1969, he married June Ward and they made their home in Crosby, ND. Duke owned D&J Bus Lines in Crosby, ND. Driving was his passion. Throughout his career, he drove more than two million accident-free miles. He always had a great story to tell and was known for his sense of humor. Duke loved old tractors and enjoyed attending Steam Threshers shows.

June died on March 1, 2011, and Duke moved to New Rockford to be near his son and family.

Duke leaves behind two sons, Don (Susie) Olds of New Rockford, ND, Jeff Olds, Coeur d’Alene, ID, and one daughter, Connie Faldalen of Havre, MT. He will be missed by six grandchildren: Nathan Olds, Misty Olds, Karlie Olds, Rikki Hewson, Randy Faldalen and OJ Faldalen, three step-grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Bernice Lineus, of Bismarck.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife (June), his parents, two brothers (Donald and Clifford) and one sister (Doris).
