Randy Olson, age 56, of rural Sheyenne, ND, died Thursday, December 1, 2016, at his home.

Randy Michael Olson was born February 23, 1960, son of Vernon and Shirley (Westerlund) Olson at New Rockford, ND. He grew up near Sheyenne, and graduated from Sheyenne High School in 1978. Randy began working for Sioux Manufacturing in Fort Totten, ND.  He then worked at Sheyenne and Williston, ND as a Gravel Wash Plant Operator, and later farmed the family farm.

Randy was once married to Mary Jane Corrigan. He adopted her daughter, Michelle, and later Randy & Mary Jane had a daughter together, Rebecca.

Randy had a special relationship with animals of all kinds. He had three dogs that were his constant companions, Benji, Daisy, and Sheeba.  

He is survived by 2 daughters, Michelle Olson, Sheyenne, Rebecca (Josh) Sand, of Red Lake Falls, MN; 7 grandchildren: Makayla, Melissa, Kiara, Nathaniel, Talon, Lyrica, and Terry; 4 brothers: Vernon, Jr. and Timothy, both of Devils Lake, ND, Darwin (Kathy) and David, both of Fargo, ND; three sisters, Rhonda (Edward) Greene, of St. Michael, ND, Dona Krahler, of Devils Lake, and Laura (Mathew) Hermanson, of Horace, ND; another brother-in-law Craig Swigart, Devils Lake; and many nieces and nephews.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, and 1 sister, Theri.
