Darlene Peterson
Darlene Peterson, age 69, of New Rockford, ND, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Sanford Continuing Care Center in Mandan, ND.
Darlene Fay Peterson was born March 6, 1945, in Devils Lake, ND, the daughter of Lyle and Helen (Hvinden) Peterson. She spent her early years on a farm in Hillsdale Township in Eddy County, ND. Later the family moved to nearby Warwick where she attended and graduated from high school there in 1963. She received a degree in Sociology from Mary College and served as a social worker at Fourth Corporation in New Rockford for several years. She was devoted to her clients, and was keenly interested in their well-being.
She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, WELCA’s Martha Circle and also a dedicated member of New Rockford’s Kiwanis Club.
She is survived by her sister LaVonne (Brian) Fingerson of Louisville, KY; brother Larry Peterson and sister-in-law Lois Steer of Minneapolis, MN; brother-in-law David Egbert of Devils Lake; niece Diane Egbert (John) Pennington and their daughter Elsa of Moorehead, MN; three nephews Darin (Andi) Egbert and their children Morgan and Carson, Jacob (Autumn) Fingerson of Grass Valley, CA, Peter (Aubrey) Fingerson of Louisville, KY.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Donna Egbert.
