Robert “Bob� Johanns, age 82, of New Rockford, ND, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 15, 2010, surrounded by his family, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND.

Bob was born March 27, 1928, in McHenry, ND, the son of Anton and Dorothy (Root) Johanns. He graduated from McHenry High School in 1946. He later moved to New Rockford and was employed as a heavy equipment operator for a road construction company for most of his working years.

In 1946, Bob was united in marriage to Phyllis Hoyt at Jessie, ND, and they had four loving daughters. He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Eagles Aerie #2923, and the New Rockford Golf Club. His favorite past times were fishing, golfing, tinkering in his garage, and joining his friends for coffee.

Bob leaves behind his wife Phyllis; four daughters, Pamela (Larry) Larson of Everett, WA, Barbara (Larry) Norton of Edmonds, WA, Rebecca (Dave) Andersen of Valley City, ND, and Darla (Nick) Suryan of Lynnwood, WA; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and his favorite sister, Beverly Ehlers of New Rockford.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Bob will be remembered for his wit and his dry sense of humor.
