Robert "Bob" Weber
Robert “Bob” Weber died in his New Rockford home on December 2, 2010, surrounded by family. Robert Adolph Weber was born August 18, 1923 to John and Regina (Knodel) Weber in Wing, ND and was baptized at Evangelical Church in Wing. He was raised on the family farm and attended school near Wing until 1936 when the family moved to New Rockford where he completed his education and became a member of Evangelical United Brethren church. Bob met the love of his life, Arlene Rosendahl, on October 31, 1947, at his brother’s wedding in New Rockford. Married on November 20, 1948 at Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church in Seattle, Bob and Arlene recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. Following their marriage, Bob and Arlene returned to New Rockford, where they became members of United Methodist Church and were later blessed with three children, Craig, Kathy and Patty. Bob purchased his own dragline in 1955 and started Weber Construction. In 1971, he purchased Anderson Sand & Gravel, which he operated until his retirement in 1989. Family, friends and church were most important to Bob. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and valued being a member of United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir for a number of years and served in various positions on the church board. Always active in his community, Bob also participated in the New Rockford Eagles, Devils Lake Elks, MidState Shrine, Masons, the North Central Planning Council, ND Ready Mix Association and was instrumental in the development of the Land Improvement Contractors Association of North Dakota. He took great pride in his longtime membership on the New Rockford School Board, where he was a driving force behind the construction of the new West Side School and addition of the high school gymnasium. Bob will be dearly missed by his wife of 62 years, Arlene; son Craig (Beverly) of Kennewick, WA; daughters Kathy (Joe) Weber-Alt of Greenwood Village, CO, Patty (Dave) Bass of Valley City, ND; grandchildren, Erin, Jada, Tina and AJ; great-grandchildren Ava, Ellie, and Jude; his brother Dave Weber of Polo, IL; his sister Mary Shroyer of Portland, OR; special niece and nephew Kerrie Stoller and Dwight Weber, and numerous other nieces and nephews. He is greeted in heaven by his parents, brothers Gottfred, Richard, Jacob, Arthur, Theodore, Benjamin and Edwin, and sisters Katherine, Martha and Johanna. The Weber family suggests memorials to Presentation Hospice, and thanks them for the wonderful care they provided to Bob in these past few weeks
