Betty Jane Shoen

Betty Jane Schoen, age 92, of Carrington, ND, died Monday, April 27, 2015, at Golden Acres Manor, Carrington, ND. Betty Jane Schoen was born during a blizzard on March 11, 1923, on a farm near Bordulac, ND, to Franz and Elizabeth (Pepple) Zink. As a young girl, the family moved to Carrington, where she attended school and graduated from Carrington High School. In 1944, Betty Jane married Arthur Schoen in Carrington. She worked at the Galehouse Drug Store for many years. She and Arthur were blessed with three children. Betty Jane was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing bridge and bird watching. She was a talented seamstress. She especially enjoyed tending to her flower garden. She also enjoyed a special friendship with her sisters. We were all blessed with her wonderful spirit and great sense of humor. Betty Jane is survived by her three children, Ardis (Doug) Williams of Carrington, Edward (Charlotte) Schoen of Glendale, AZ, and Amy Schoen of Aberdeen, SD; her sister, Susan Dailey of Minot, ND, two sister-in-laws, Shirley Schoen of Hannaford, CA and Herta Leintz of Torrance, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, eight sisters, Lola, Edith, Dorothy, Marie, Margaret, Caroline, Imogene and Ella Mae, two brothers, Sherman and Franz.
