Message: Dorothy: Just wanted to say how much I appreciated your parents. Bert instilled in me a love of fishing. He and Liz came to Bloomington to visit while I was there. Maybe you were along. I don't remember. He was one of the most cheerful persons that I have ever known. He always wore his faith "out in the open". I missed him when he moved to North Dakota and I still miss him. May God reward you for looking after your parents.

Message: I am one of the "boy's young teen Sunday School" mentioned above.  Shorty had one of the greatest impacts on my life. I would go over to visit him and we would sit down at their kitchen table. He would say, "Lizzy, Jimmy's here. Bring us some Dr. Peppers." He would then get his huge Scofield Bible out and start sharing what he had been learning.

He helped me get my first guitar - a good Yamaha. He taught me woodworking. He taught me patience and grace. He loved us kids and his sweet wife who he just joined in heaven.

From their cozy home filled with endless salt & pepper shaker collections to the laughter we shared, heaven has gained a saint.

The world needs more Shorty Shrocks...

Message: I wish I had received this info earlier. I would have liked to pay my respects to a man that has had a great influence on my life. He was my S'S teacher for several years in my teens and every time I saw him after that he always asked me with a big smile about my relationship with Jesus. He was like a second father to me.
