Robert E. Steinbach, 90, of Bismarck, passed away on October 15, 2015 in a Bismarck Hospital.

Robert was born on June 13, 1925 to Jacob and Marthilda (Hartl) Steinbach in New Rockford, ND. Bob graduated from Fessenden High School in 1947 and later the University of North Dakota.

He joined the U.S. Navy at 17 to see the world, and later was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army.

Robert married Marian M. Yee on June 7, 1972 in San Francisco, CA. He worked as a Senior Underwriter for Continental Insurance for 20 years. He was later a prison guard at San Quentin Prison in California for 5 years. He enjoyed riding his horse until he was 88, just two years ago.

He is survived by his wife Marian, of Bismarck, and one sister Geraldine Steinbach of Fargo and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Richard Steinbach, John Steinbach and sister Marcella Klocke and also nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Sunday Mass 19 Second Ave., Pelham, New York 10803.
