David William Stoertz, 57, Göttingen, Germany, died Dec. 9, 2014, in Göttingen.

A Service of Remembrance was held Friday December 19, 2014, at 3:00PM in the Groß Lengden Church with Pastorin Fr. Dr. Inke Wegener officiating.

David was born October 17, 1957, in Washington, D.C. He graduated from Fall Church High School in 1975 and Northwestern University, Illinois, in 1979.

He was the first and solo trombonist for Göttinger Symphonie Orchester from 1980 to 2004. In 2004, he was the stage manager and music librarian and archivist until his death.

He is survived by his wife Ona (Ringerud) Stoertz; his children, Jessica and Daniel; his mother, Agnes Stoertz; his sisters Cathy Stoertz and Nancy Scheider; his mother and father-in-law, Olaf and Muriel Ringerud, Carrington, N.D.; and many family members and friends.

Burial will take place in Carrington, N.D., where he will be laid to rest near his favorite golf course.
