Martha J. "Marty" Tag
Martha “Marty� Tag, age 73, of Jamestown, ND, died Thursday, January 23, 2014, at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown, ND. Martha Jane McCann was born April 30, 1940 to Parley and Agnes (Hewitt) McCann. She grew up in New Rockford where she graduated with honors from New Rockford High School. Martha worked at the New Rockford Transcript prior to her marriage. She married her high school sweetheart, Larry Tag, on August 21, 1960 at United Methodist Church, New Rockford. Over the years, the couple lived in several towns, and worked with students in the Finley, Glenfield-Sutton, Grace City and Midkota school systems. One of Marty’s greatest joys was working with the Midkota kindergarten. Years after working with these students, they would see her and come for their hugs. Martha was a member of the Sutton Homemakers, Methodist Ladies Aide and the United Methodist Churches of Sutton and Grace City. The apple of her eye is and will always be her grandson, Dyllon. She is survived by her husband, a daughter Cindy (Richard) Nygord, Jamestown; a son Tim Tag, Jamestown; grandson, Dyllon Tag, Jamestown; mother-in-law, Selma Tag, Jamestown; her siblings James McCann, Topeka, KA, Alice Alexander, Hermiston, OR; John (Janice) McCann, Minot, ND; a sister-in-law, Shirley McCann, Wahpeton, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Gerald, her father-in-law, Alex Tag. Martha, you are and always will be loved!

I am so sorry to hear about Martha passing away. I was Martha's neighbor in New Rockford since we were 5th graders. We use to play together. I especially remember the softball games in the vacant lot next to their house. After high school I lost touch with Martha but always inquired about her at all the high school reunions. Again I am so sorry for your loss.
