Clara M. Vetsch
Clara M. Vetsch, 84, of West Fargo, ND, formerly Carrington, ND, died Monday, November 23, 2015, in her home at Sheyenne Crossing under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley, and was also receiving companion care by Griswold Home Care. Clara Mary Klein was born on July 8, 1931, in Pierce County, ND. She was the only one of eight children to be born at the family farmstead west of Balta, ND. She attended school up until her sophomore year, when she became a caregiver to her mother. On September 29, 1952, she married James E. Vetsch of Balta, Jim and Clara lived in Great Falls, MT, Balta, and Carrington. In 2006, three years after the death of her husband, she moved to West Fargo. In 2008, she moved to independent living at Sheyenne Crossings, West Fargo. Clara enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She was a talented artist who loved oil painting. She was active in her church as president of Alter Society and a communion minister. She loved to travel and golf, and was a member of Crossroads Golf Club of Carrington, ND. She always enjoyed a good game of pinochle. Clara is survived by three children, daughters, Carla (Neil) Heiden, Spicer, ND, Sheila (Roger) Sherritt, Blanchard, ND, and son, Todd (Janna) Vetsch, Casselton, ND; grandchildren, Travis Frye, Elie (Andrew) Frye-Tanaka, Nadine (Brandon) Nelson, Justin (Jenny) Sherritt, Tanya (Mitch) Wagner, Zach Sherritt (fiancé Brianna Conmy), Tyler Sherritt, Ben Vetsch, Josh Vetsch; great-grandchildren, Brady Sherritt, Jaden Sherritt, Dylan Wagner, Ella Wagner, Brinley Wagner, Maddex Nelson, and Daxten Nelson. She is also survived by a sister, Helen Hoffert; her brothers, Edward Klein, Dennis (Georgian) Klein, Ray (Bertha) Klein, and James (Arlene) Klein; and a brother-in-law, Lee Vetsch. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Vetsch; parents, Michael and Elizabeth (Schmidt) Klein; infant sister, Elizabeth Klein; and brother, Kenneth Klein. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
