Vivian P. Boe

Vivian P. Boe, age 91, of Fargo, ND, formerly of New Rockford, ND, died Sunday, October 2, 2011, at Bethany in Fargo.


Vivian Pauline Miller was born November 8, 1919, in Carrington, ND, the daughter of William and Anna (Ugelstad) Miller. She lived with her family in Brantford, ND, until 1927. Her father was a rural mail carrier there. They then moved to New Rockford, ND where she attended school.


She married A. Howard Boe in New Rockford where they owned and operated Vivian’s Café until his death in 1963. She then went to work as a Dietary Supervisor at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd. Vivian retired from Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in 1985. Vivian moved to Fargo in 1995, to be near her family.


She is a member of First Lutheran Church in New Rockford.


She is survived by one son, Andy (Kim) Boe, Fargo, ND; one daughter-in-law, Marilyn Boe, Fargo, ND;
7 grandchildren, Taylor, Austin, Logan, Michael (Connie), Michelle, David and Donelle, all of Fargo, ND; 8 great grandchildren; 3 step-great grandchildren; 2 step-great great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Marlys (Virgil) Berglund, Fargo, ND, Mernice Jacobson, Grafton, ND; and several nieces and nephews.


Vivian is preceded in death by one son, Donald, her husband Howard, her parents, one brother Donald, one sister Sylvia, one brother-in-law CW Jacobson, and two nieces.
