Wanda Lee Kurtz, of rural New Rockford, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at her home.

Wanda Lee Kurtz was born on September 12, 1935, the daughter of Burdett and Eva (Fread) Kurtz in Eddy County, near New Rockford, ND. She was raised and attended 2 years at a country school in Eddy County and in 3rd grade, Wanda attended school in New Rockford where she graduated. Wanda worked in the Eddy County Treasurer’s office and served as Eddy County Auditor for 16 years.

Wanda is survived by three sisters, Marion Mechtle, Phyllis Topp, and Wilma Kurtz, all of New Rockford, ND; also a niece and two nephews, Judy Mechtle, Jamestown, ND, Don (Eve) McAvoy and Jay Topp, both of New Rockford, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Arnold; and a sister, Francis Pearl McAvoy.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to be given to a charity of your choice.
