Marlys Williams
Marlys Williams, 76, of New Rockford ND, died Saturday December 23, 2017 at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, New Rockford. Marlys JoAnn Haakenson was born May 7, 1941, at home on the family farm near McHenry ND, the daughter of Clarence and Emma (Overby) Haakenson. Her family meant everything to her, and her lessons of hard work, strength, patience, grace and forgiveness will always remain with them. Message: Marlys will always be Milly to me; She was a dear sister to my Aunt Eileen. Both are close to my heart. She will be missed. I recalled a time when I walked into the drugstore not knowing she worked there. I instantly said, "Hello, Milly". She grinned and said, she had not been called that in years...Ha. They are the type of people who make their parents proud. Her smile will be missed in the community.
