Doris Vraa
Doris Elaine (Hennings) Vraa age 85, of Climax, MN died Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at Halstad, MN. Doris was born September 4, 1924 at Carrington, ND. The daughter of Earl and Gladys (Foulston) Purcell. She was reared and attended country schools in Stutsman County at Glacier School Number 1 of District 38, west of Edmuds, ND. She met and married Virgil Hennings on August 11, 1941 at Moorhead, MN. They farmed and ranched in Longview Township, Foster County, ND. Four children were born to the union. Richard, Fern, John and Paulette. Virgil died on July 3, 1987. Then Doris met Arthur M. Vraa of Climax, MN and they were married on September 4, 1988.
Survivors include her husband, Art of Climax, MN; two sons, Richard and John Hennings of Carrington, ND; two daughters Fern Hennings of Beach, ND and Paulette (Hennings) Leik of Carrington, ND and one special Granddaughter Marie LaVaux whom she raised, of Climax, MN; four stepsons: David (Cheryl) Vraa of Nielsville, MN, John (Signe) Vraa of Climax, MN, Paul Vraa of Grand Forks, ND, Eric Vraa of Madison, WI; 5 grandchildren, and 4 step grandchildren, three brothers: Wallace (Carrie) Purcell of Carrington, ND, Bruce (Carolyn) Purcell of Livingston, MT, Donald (Kathleen) Purcell of Big Timber, MT; Four Sisters: Norma (Henry) Neumiller of Carrington, ND, Wanda Sands of Casper, WY, Barbara (Cort) Strobel of Big Timber, MT, Sheila (Bob) O’Connell of Big Timber, MT and a brother-in-law David Myrstol of Big Timber, MT and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Rawleigh, Clayton and Henry; and one sister: Rosemary (Purcell) Myrstol and her first husband: Virgil Hennings.
