Emma Leppke
Emma Leppke, age 98, of Carrington, ND, died and went to be with her Lord, February 2, 2009, at the Golden Acres Manor in Carrington, ND.
Emma Rosneau, daughter of Ferdinand and Maria (Fandrich) Rosneau, was born October 27, 1910, on her parent’s farm near McClusky, ND, where she grew up. She attended public school in McClusky. Emma also attended Valley City Teacher’s College (VCSU) and then taught school for one year. On July 29, 1931, Emma was married to Albert Leppke, in the McClusky Mennonite Brethren Church. They made their home on the Leppke farm southwest of Carrington, ND. Emma worked with her husband on the farm and together built a large egg business, supplying eggs to many North Dakota towns. Albert died on February 19, 1979. Emma was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and was a leader in the Woman’s Missionary Society. She also was a leader in the Longview Township Homemakers. She is survived by two sons; DeWayne (Edith) Leppke, Portage, MI, Robert (Janice) Leppke, Renton, WA; five grandchildren: Diane (Shane) Benson, Saginaw, MI, Ruth (Scott) Senn, Ft. Wayne, IN, Brent (Shari) Leppke, Midland, VA, Robert (Laura) Leppke, Jr., Henderson, NV, Melissa (Mathew) Bouthillier, Renton, WA; twelve great-grandchildren: David, Joshua, Heidi, and Christina Benson; Lindsay, Levi, Emma, and Zoe Leppke; Erik and Summer Senn; Brian and Logan Bouthillier. Emma was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Mary Ann Leppke, her parents, eleven brothers and sisters.
