James Puterbaugh
James A. Puterbaugh, age 71, of Carrington, ND, died March 31, 2009, in his home with his children at his side under the care of Presentation Hospice.
James Puterbaugh was born December 30, 1937, the son of Abe and Dorothy (Hennings) Puterbaugh in Carrington, ND. He was raised on the family farm in Stutsman County and attended country school at Glacier #1. As a young man, he worked for area farmers. On April 25, 1970, James married Sharon Lynne in McHenry, ND. They lived in Jamestown until 1973, when they moved to Carrington. He began farming and raising cattle. Jim worked for Clark Truck line for several years and also for Lutman House Moving until recently. Sharon passed away in July, 2008. Jim loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his many friends. He was well known for his knowledge of history of Carrington and the surrounding areas. Jim was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Carrington. Jim will be remembered and deeply missed by his one daughter, Amy Puterbaugh, Fargo, ND; one son, Jay Puterbaugh, Moorhead, MN; two granddaughters, Carly and Ciara, Both of Fargo, ND; one brother, Gerald (Lois) Puterbaugh, Sioux Falls, SD; three sisters, Carrie (Wallace) Purcell, Janette (Jim) Ryan, and Sharon (Jeff) Hewitt, all of Carrington; and his many friends. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon; parents, Abe and Dorothy; one brother, Lawrence; and an infant son, James Jr.
