Jane Dunham
W. Jane Dunham, 82, passed into eternal life on February 10, 2009 in New Rockford, North Dakota at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd.
Winifred Jane Wagner was born February 13, 1926 in Jamestown, North Dakota to John and Ruth (Franklin) Wagner. Jane grew up in Jamestown where she attended elementary school, until the family moved to New Rockford where she completed junior high and high school. After graduation from New Rockford Central High School she continued on to Business School in Minneapolis, MN. Jane returned to New Rockford and in 1946, Jane married Frank Dunham. They had two children, David and Nancy. Jane was employed at several New Rockford businesses: Independent Lumber Company, Hope Ford Auto Dealership, & later with the Surety Title Company where she became a North Dakota Licensed Abstractor. In l966, Jane was elected Eddy County Register of Deeds, Clerk of Court and County Judge. She served the citizens of Eddy County in these positions for 24 years, until her retirement in 1990. Jane worked her entire adult life, and was very appreciative of the various employment opportunities she had in New Rockford. Jane loved swimming, ice skating and biking; and participated on league bowling teams for many years. She loved spending time with friends, and she was always ready to be of assistance to her friends and family. Jane’s greatest joy was her love for her five grandchildren and being able to spend time with them and other family members…her loving heart will be missed by all her family. Jane was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and St. Agnes Circle. She was also a member of the New Rockford Eagles Auxiliary, and was very proud of her lifetime membership in the American Legion Auxiliary. Jane became a resident of the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in December of 1997. Jane’s parents, John and Ruth Wagner and her brother Donald Wagner preceded her in death.
