Olga Sielig
Olga Sielig, age 89, of Lackawanna, NY, formerly of New Rockford, ND, died on Friday, August 28, 2009, in a New York health facility.
Olga was born on November 29, 1919 at rural Cathay, ND, the daughter of John and Teckla (Brennon) Gedrose. She attended school at Fairville Township and was baptized and confirmed in Stavenger Lutheran Church. Olga was united in marriage to Clarence Sielig on August 19, 1945 at Hamburg, ND. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Martha Circle, and American Legion Auxilary. Olga enjoyed crafts, reading, bingo, crossword puzzles and collecting coins. She worked at New Rockford Hospital for many years until her retirement in 1993, when she moved to Lackawanna, NY to live with her daughter. She is survived by one daughter; Shirley (Ted) Tchorzewski, Lackawanna, NY; four sisters, Tillie Collier, Gerda Backman, Vivian (Dan) Rimmereid, all of New Rockford, ND, Julia Gross, Fargo, ND; one brother, John (Barb) Gedrose, New Rockford, ND; three grandchildren, Edward (Denise) Jensen, Sherevport, LA, Bonnie Jensen Rogers, Gerry (Melissa) Jensen, both of Lackawanna, NY; seven great-grandchildren, Samantha and Dylan Rogers, Matthew, Gracie, Theodore Jensen, Erik and Alexa Jensen; and many nieces and nephews. Olga was preceded in death by her husband Clarence, her parents, one sister, Erna, and one brother, Emil.
