William Romanoski
William P. Romanoski, age 80, of New Rockford, ND, died Sunday, July 12, 2009, at Carrington Health Center in Carrington, ND.
William “Bill� Romanoski was born July 4, 1929, in Eddy County, ND, the son of Joseph and Rose (Kubzik) Romanoski. He received his first eight years of schooling at New Rockford Consolidated, and graduated from New Rockford Central High School in 1946. After attending Dakota Business College for two years, he then moved to Monterey, CA where he worked at a Ford dealership. There he married his wife of 55 years, Mary Lesmeister of New Rockford, on September 23, 1950, at San Carlos Catholic Church. They returned to New Rockford to take over the family farm in 1952, where they raised their seven children. After purchasing the local automotive dealership, he renamed the dealership to B. R. Chev. & Olds., and worked there until their retirement in 1998. They moved to Grand Forks in August of 2003. Bill and Mary spent their winter months in Mesa, AZ. Mary passed away on July 3, 2005. He returned to New Rockford in 2006. His interests included traveling, golfing, gardening, playing cards, entertaining, and socializing. Bill was involved in Knights of Columbus, Masons, Eagles Club, Elks, and a lifetime member of St. John’s Catholic Church. He is survived by his four sons and three daughters, Craig (Marian, Vince) of Apache Junction, AZ, Linda (Dale) Neil of Kohler, WI, Steve (Charmain) of Sheboygan Falls, WI, Randy (Rita) of Kohler, WI, Julie Danduran of New Rockford, Laurie (Dennis) Ball of Grand Forks, and Jeffry (Melanie) of Kohler, WI; 20 grandchildren; 8 step–grandchildren; 8 great–grandchildren; a brother–in–law John Koch, New Rockford; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, parents, five sisters, infant brother, several in–laws, cousins, and nephews.
