Margaret Abell

Margaret Claire Abell, age 78, died peacefully at Pioneer Care Nursing Home, on June 13, 2018 in Fergus Falls, MN.

Margaret Claire Abell (Colbourne) was born on January 28, 1940 in Boston, MA, to George and Grace (Braily) Colbourne. After her father’s death she dropped out of high school in order to help support and raise her nine siblings. Because she had worked at many jobs with her father she was able to obtain work and positions that at the time were only considered male dominant fields. After helping raise her siblings she went on to marry and raise her family of eight children. Due to circumstances she raised her family, mostly on her own. In 1983 she obtained her high school GED in order to participate in a Nursing program at which she worked.

In 1991 she graduated from the Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, CO and became an ordained minister. She then pastored a church in Illinois. She continued this until her health began to fail at which time she devoted her life to Christ, her ministries and her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. 

Margaret is survived by her children: Jean Colbourne, Bend, OR, Thomas Abell, San Francisco, CA, Robert Abell, Wahpeton, ND, George (Tammy) Abell, Carrington, ND, Margaret (Pat) McFadden, Fergus Falls, MN, Mary (Mike) Prow, Bend, OR, James Abell, New Rockford, ND, Daughter-in-laws Bette Abell, Wahpeton, ND, Katina Abell and Holly Dewald, New Rockford, ND, thirty grandchildren, forty eight great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild and sisters Susan Logan, Norwood, MA and Emily Emmons, Lynn,MA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Donald Abell and his wife Loretta Abell, son-in-law Thomas Manley, three grandchildren George Manley, Michael Crawford and Jessie Danielson;1 brother and 6 sisters.
