Cheryl Good Iron
Cheryl Faye Good Iron (Redbird Woman) was born on April 13, 1953, in Devils Lake, ND, to Elizabeth Cloud Morgan and Julius Rainbow she began her journey to the spirit world May 18, 2018 with her family by her side. She attended school at Four Totten, Oberon, Maddock, and Wahpeton. She received her GED, and also attended United Tribes where she received a certificate in the police science program in 1983. Cheryl attended UND and was enrolled in the nursing program. She married Bob Charboneau and from this marriage had four children she also married Ben Benson and Brooks Good Iron. Cheryl was a hard worker and worked, various jobs where-ever she lived she was a Gypsy and moved around a lot. Some of her jobs she worked at here included, Fort Totten Police Dept., DTI, early childhood tracking, special diabetes program and CHR. Due to health problems she was forced to retire. Cheryl had a big heart and loved to help people and would help anyone who needed it. She was a loving caring person that love to cook for her coworkers and make her awesome fry bread. She also liked to sew and made many star quilts. She loved to joke around and had a crazy sense of humor and was always willing to lend a listening ear and give good advice. She enjoyed traveling and going to different casinos to gamble. She enjoyed rodeos and powwows, where she would dance traditional in her younger years. She supported NODAPL and spent time at Oceti Sakowin where she enjoyed meeting new people and making new friends. She made many new friends thru social media. She loved to spend time with her 32 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her son Sam (Starr) Cloud and daughters Chepa Cloud, Kristi (Robert) Thompson, Nellie Charboneau and Rose (Jerry) Lenoir; sisters Myra Pearson, Betty Smith, Candy Volk, Connie (Ronnie) Rainbow, Tammy Dubois, Angel Bergrud and Sharon Rainbow; brothers Terry (Sharon) Alex, Terry (Martina) Morgan, Julius Rainbow Jr.; aunts Hermenia McKay and Corrine Cloud; uncles Aloysius Cloud; Delbert Cloud, special cousin Carrie Cloud-Iron Eyes and many, many adopted family members. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents; son Shawn Charboneau; grandson Michael Ray Cloud; brothers Stacy Littleghost, Randy Noel, Victor Rainbow and Stormy Rainbow, sister Karen Rainbow.
Wake: Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 5:00 pm with Rosary Service at 8:00 pm at Crow Hill Rec. Center, Fort Totten. Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 10 am at Crow Hill Rec. Center, Fort Totten. Burial: Lighthouse Assembly of God Cemetery, Fort Totten. |
