Eunice Papenfuss
Eunice Papenfuss, age 73, of Glenfield, ND, died Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Eventide, Fargo, ND while fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Eunice Faye Saxberg was born February, 28, 1944, near Cooperstown, ND, the daughter of Albin and Agnes (Fredrickson) Saxberg. She attended school in Cooperstown and graduated in 1962 from Cooperstown High School. Eunice was united in marriage to Clarence Papenfuss on February 5, 1964, in New Rockford, ND. They made their home in Glenfield. Eunice worked as Postmaster for over 30 years in both McHenry and Glenfield Post Offices. She retired in 2003 after the death of Clarence on September 27, 2002.Eunice moved to Eventide Assisted living on August 16, 2017, due to declining health. Eunice loved to do crossword puzzles, Sudoku, Facebook, watching the Vikings and Bison football, and working in her flower beds. She was a very good cook and loved making meals for her grandkids. She is survived by her children Laura (Tom Reichenberger) Harding, Cathay, ND, Larry (Susan) Papenfuss, Hutchinson KS, LuAnn (Chad Merseth) Sitte, Fargo, 7 grandchildren; Mark (Meghan) Harding, Jacob Harding, Chance Harding, Gage (Rachel) Sitte, Hunter Sitte, Kennedy Sitte, and Alex Papenfuss; 1 great-grandson Jameson Harding; 3 sisters Esther Peterson, Velma Miller, Helen Fallen; 2 brothers Arnold (Judy) Saxberg, Arden (Nita)Saxberg; sisters-in-law Elaine Felt, Elsie Hoffman, Georgia Papen. Eunice was preceded in death by her husband Clarence; her parents; sisters Mavis Adrain, and Leona Tande, Sisters-in-law Inez Slind, Esther Papenfuss; and brothers-in-law Warren Peterson, Benny Tande, Paul Adrian, Ervin Papenfuss, Norman Papenfuss, Andy Felt, Paulmer Slind, William Papenfuss, and Garold Papen.
