Frank A. Bowden
Frank A. Bowden, age 97, of Carrington, ND, died Monday, May 10, 2010, at Golden Acres Manor, Carrington, ND.
Frank Andersen Bowden was born on December 26, 1912, the son of Charles and Jessie (Hopkins) Bowden at Twin Tree Township in Benson County, ND. He was raised in the area and attended high school in Maddock, ND. On October 7, 1934, Frank was united in marriage to Amedia B. Fornshell at her family farm house near Carrington. They farmed in Nordmore Township for a time, and then moved to a farm north of Grace City, ND. In 1943, they bought a farm in Rolling Prairie township in Foster County, near Juanita, ND. After Frank retired, he worked for other farmers, he also did carpenter work for several people in the area. Amedia died on March 26, 1999. He was a member of the Rolling Prairie School Board for several years. Frank enjoyed his crafts of rocks and woodworking. He and Amedia enjoyed going to the craftshows. Frank enjoyed the many flowers and vegetable gardens they raised, and they spent many hours together working in the gardens. Frank also enjoyed fishing and hunting, reading books and playing cards. Frank is survived by a son, Martin, Fargo, ND; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Winandy, Carrington, ND; and a sister-in-law, Elaine Caylor, Carrington, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Amedia; a son, Charles; a brother, Henry; a sister, Laura; and a daughter-in-law, Maryann.
